  • Lisa was first certified as a designated "CRIS" (Certified Construction Risk Specialist) in 2011, while Lisa is also designated as a "CPIA" (Certified Professional Insurance Agent), and as a "CIC" (Certified Insurance Counselor).

  • Furthermore, Mrs. Muroff earned her Advanced Leadership from the Yale School of Management Professional Studies and she also earned a certificate in Construction Management from Pace University in 2021.

Lisa Decina-Muroff founded and President of DKM Risk Advisors 1999. Her mission is to procure insurance needed insurance, risk management, Subcontractor Qualification platform, and as a consultant or Trusted Advisor.

  • DKM Risk Advisors is recognized by New York State Economic Development, New York City Small Business Services, The Port Authority, MTA, and New York State Department of Transportation as a certified WBE (Woman Owned Business), and certified as a DBE (Disadvantaged Business Enterprise).

With over 30 years of experience as an industry expert, Lisa Decina-Muroff has always maintained the highest values of integrity, and respect, for all business relationships. Understanding the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion for all verticals of business is needed.

  • Lisa started working in the insurance industry in 1985, she started her career with RBH/AON her vast experience spanning National to Regional brokerages.

  • Lisa has worked on projects with a total valuation exceeding $100,000,000 within the public and private sectors providing insurance, risk management, and consulting. Understanding the client's needs; mitigating financial loss; fulfilling contractual and job-specific obligations; and government regulations.

  • Lisa has done Insurance Readiness Workshops for NYC Small Business Services helping Contractors Understand Insurance Requirements fulfill Contractual obligations.

  • In a joint venture Hofstra and Women in Insurance and Finance LI she has created mentor/mentee workshops to their future businesswomen in entrepreneurs.

Recipient of the "Women of the Distinction" award given by Assembly Woman of the 76th District, Rebecca Seawright, at the Rebecca Seawright 6th Annual Women Leadership Award. Rebecca Seawright is an avid advocate for women in business and is a woman business leader herself.

Organizational Affiliations, and Non-Profit Involvement

Lisa founded Metro New York, Women Contractors and Executives Metro Chapter and she currently serves as President of the WCOE NY Metro Chapter. This chapter aspires to help women leaders within the construction industry and all its related fields to counteract the industry's patriarchal nature. This Non­ For-Profit organization is the voice of women in construction on local, state, and federal levels and enjoys a presence on Capitol Hill.

  • Lisa is also in the process of founding the WIFS Long Island Chapter which hopes to empower women in the Insurance and Financial Service fields to succeed beyond their limits.

Lisa is a longtime supporter, member, and previous board member of Suffolk County Women's Business Coalition

Personal Life

As a Girl Scout Leader, Mrs. Muroff emphasizes "Courage, Confidence, and Character" as she helps guide young women on a path of leadership, moral, and personal development. Beyond,

Lisa has played a key role in her local church, St. Mary's. Lisa also sponsors the "Make A Wish" foundation helping grant suffering children their wishes. Lisa is truly a community leader, advocate, and teacher as she guides future leaders.
